Upgrade to a Custom Client Portal Domain
Steps to move from the default .flexpmts.com domain to your own custom URL.
By default, all client portal URLs contain .flexpmts.com. To upgrade to a custom client portal domain, email support@getflexpoint.com stating your desired custom domain. You’ll also need to provide the following:

What SSL certificate is acceptable? ▶
Any valid SSL certificate issued by a trusted certificate authority is acceptable. Single-domain certificates are supported. SAN (Subject Alternative Name) certificates and wildcard certificates are not supported.
What is an SSL certificate and why do I need to provide one? ▶
An SSL certificate is a digital file that verifies your website’s identity and encrypts the connection between your client’s browser and your server.
This keeps data private and secure, helping clients trust your custom domain.
What are the requirements of the SSL certificate? ▶
You will need an SSL certificate that is either specifically issued for your exact domain (the one requested for the FlexPoint client portal) or a wildcard SSL certificate.
- A specific certificate secures only that domain.
- A wildcard certificate covers the base domain and all its subdomains.
Where do I get the SSL certificate? ▶
An SSL certificate can be purchased through your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy).
What purpose does sending the SSL certificate as a PFX file have? ▶
A PFX file is a secure file format that stores an SSL certificate along with its private key, allowing us to properly install and configure your custom domain.
Once my certificate expires, do I need to renew it? ▶
Yes. you’ll need to renew the SSL certificate and provide the updated PFX file to the FlexPoint team.
How long does it take to implement the custom domain once I send everything? ▶
Implementation typically takes 1–2 business days after all required items are received.
What happens if the custom portal domain is added after my clients are already using the existing URL? ▶
A redirect will be put in place.
When clients navigate to the previous URL, they will automatically be redirected to the new custom domain.
What do partners typically use for their custom portal URL? ▶
Common examples include:

- payments.yourcompany.com
- billing.yourcompany.com
- portal.yourcompany.com
