GL Connect Tax Sync Overview
Learn how to manually or automatically sync tax rates between ConnectWise and QuickBooks
If you're using GL Connect, syncing tax information between ConnectWise and QuickBooks can be done in two ways:
- Manual Tax Setup – manually matching tax rates between ConnectWise and QuickBooks
- Automated Sales Taxes (QuickBooks) – automatically calculated based on location
Manual Tax Setup 🛠️
What it does: In manual setup, tax rates need to be aligned between ConnectWise and QuickBooks. This involves creating or editing tax codes in both systems so the same tax rates are applied and transferred accurately.

Automated Sales Tax (QuickBooks) ⚡
What it does: QuickBooks offers an Automated Sales Tax feature, which automatically calculates the applicable sales tax based on the sale's location and relevant tax laws.
Note: Discrepancies may occur between ConnectWise and QuickBooks Online due to differences in tax rules or location interpretation.

FlexPoint leverages the tax "Name" in ConnectWise. Ensure the tax "Name" in ConnectWise matches the corresponding "Tax Rate Name" in QuickBooks.
You will receive a sync error notification for each invoice that fails to sync. Make sure tax rates are configured before importing invoices from ConnectWise.
There may be rounding discrepancies between QuickBooks and ConnectWise. Check and adjust the rates as needed.
