How It Works
Flow of events for Dual Integration Full Sync
Prerequisites
- Each company in ConnectWise must have a unique Account ID. This is how we match customers between the two systems - Account ID must match the Customer Name in your accounting system. The Account ID field is found under the Company Finance section in ConnectWise.
- Product mapping (invoice line item names) must match between ConnectWise and your accounting integration, otherwise FlexPoint will not be able to successfully sync the invoice. You will receive an email notification of the unsuccessful sync with the name mismatch.
Optionally you can enable Auto Sync where FlexPoint will automatically create line items for you - see below. - Tax mapping must match between ConnectWise and your accounting system. You will receive an email notification of the unsuccessful sync with the name mismatch. You can view the tax mappings by heading to Settings > Integrations>Go to QuickBooks and Tax Plans within FlexPoint.
-
Notify our onboarding team of your tax setup. If ConnectWise is your source for tax calculations, tax mappings must match up between the two systems. You will receive an email notification of the unsuccessful sync.
Syncing Products
FlexPoint can automatically sync line items used on invoices in ConnectWise to your QuickBooks product catalog.
Once your full sync has been properly set up, you can enable automatic product syncing by going to Settings > Integrations, ensuring you are on the QuickBooks page, and clicking the switch below:
You will also want to ensure that the income account for these newly-synced products is properly set on the same page.
If a new line item is created in your accounting system, you will receive an email about the new changes and can always change the underlying account mapping directly in your accounting system.
Import Rules
By creating import rules in FlexPoint, you control when invoices are synced between ConnectWise and your accounting integration. When the rule is triggered, FlexPoint will import the invoice from ConnectWise and create a corresponding invoice in your accounting integration. When that invoice is paid, FlexPoint will update the matching invoices in both ConnectWise and your accounting integration, as well as reconcile the deposit in your accounting integration once it is sent to your bank account.
Creating an import rule in FlexPoint
For a typical setup, the following invoice rules should be created on ConnectWise, not QuickBooks:
